Statement

My most recent work features my love of "tramp art" frames and abstract design combined with a reverence for the traditional designs of various indigenous cultures.  I am primarily a painter and sculptor who works with oil and acrylic or combines found wood into wall pieces or sculptural objects.  My "framings" are a continuation of the practice of making work that fits a frame, rather than a frame that fits work, owing to my admiration for self-taught creations, constructivist practices and traditions and designs of cross-cultural experience.
